Re: tires & wheels...this is the exact look I'm trying to achieve on the front and rear of my Satellite...in terms of: tire size, aspect ratio, rim width, rim offset, etc...on both the rear and the front. Can anyone help identify these specifics, (or at least take a good guess) from this picture? I need all the details, including offset. I want to get this figured out before purchasing the rims & tires. Thanks.

The front is probably a 235/60/15 or a 245. I would bet a 7" wide rim and most likely factory dimensions.

The rear is probably a 275/50/15 on an 8.5" wide wheel, or a 295/50/15. It could be a 10" wheel. I can't see the depth of the dish so I couldn't say.

I hope that's a helpful start.

Yeah, thanks...

So say if the rears are 295/50-15 with 10" rim, I'm wondering what the correct backspace would need to be, in order to get the tire right up next to the fender without hitting (like in the picture)?

Is that the only picture you have of that car? If there was any way to see what wheels were on that car, the rear could be narrowed-down to fewer possibilities.

You may need to resort to a tool like this:

... Not the best-rated tool, but there is too much to guess wrong here without even knowing what wheels the guys in the picture are running!

Ah...that looks like a useful tool to figure this out. I'll see if anyone rents something like that. Thanks for your help.

during my tire selection process, I built a very simple spreadsheet that listed the common tire sizes and their dimensions. It didn't take the rim width into consideration but it gave me somewhat of a better understanding on how the tires compare. Looking back at this now I'm almost embarrassed to share this without some cleanup but someone might find the information useful. I couldn't attach the spreadsheet so I took a screen shot. If I remember correctly the red cells are sizes that are no longer available by BF Goodrich.
