Can't stand grabber colors

It seems to me that of all the cars I've stumbled upon, is that the high impact color cars were rode hard and put away wet. The best condition cars ,survivors if you will, are almost always green, brown, beige, etc.
I know that there are exceptions to the rule, But my luck always lands me the greenies! ( except for my 68 red on black 4 speed X)It was beat to hell by the time I got it.
Interesting & well applied logic. As for B bods, i figure All the two doors have been hammered at some point in their life. 4 door cars have fared much better through the years with many still under a 100K miles. And they are stiffer. If i can swing another Coronet before the ride is over, ill be looking for a 68 4 door. Have grown quite fond of the profile....and no fake vents stamped into the quarters. Same wheelbase. Black or a dark, super fine crush metalic green.

A friend of mine told me about a car another bud had long ago. He ended up parting it out. I think it was a sublime 70 Coronet 4 door. Now that may not appeal to all, but we figured it must have been special ordered.

I have a problem with panther pink but I love the rest

Those are Good Looking noses.

the color that i can't stand anymore is the
sublime/greengo that everyone puts on a mopar
no matter what year/model it is.
it is just overdone.
please stop
as i get older i'm really liking some of the colors nobody else likes
gk6 autumn bronze
dy3 cream
sandpebble beige and a few others that you rarely see
as most were repainted over with that puke green color..

I'm glad everybody likes different things.
Some colors look better on certain cars. But it's whatever the owner wants to do.
I prefer the high impact colors. But I also love black and green and blue and....hell, the car sitting in my garage is some purple/pink/red mess. But it looks good on the car, not that I had much of a choice. Lol

:steering:That or old people that babied/pampered their cars, as opposed to the look at me wrap this car around a telephone pole types.

My 68 post Coronet was original,,,was a bronzish, coppery color....maybe it was the gk6 You mention. Im not up to speed on the codes. My 69 hdtp Coro was white with black vinyl & black rocker lines.....it was a handsome car with 'Daisy' Americans, 60 series Pro Trac biases, & a generous 'nose dive' dialed in.

That's cause the guys with the green, brown and beige cars were too embarassed to drive them and kept them hidden in their garage !!!!!!

I remember seeing a Moulan Rouge 70 340 4 speed Dart survivor car at a show in the nineties that had 4000 original miles. The reason it only had 4000 miles was because the original owner got his stones busted so much about driving a Pink car, that he put it in his garage and never drove the car again!

On my 72 rallye charger I'm building I'm going bright orange again ! It just screams bad *** .
And of course you need a black interior with a bright *** color! White just doesn't fly.

That's why they called them Hi-IMPACT colors !!!!!! LOL

Since everyone is showing their true colors 8-) Whatever Graveyard Cars is working on, I most likely , don't care for. Guess I am anti-establishment............MO

Hey Jimmy... You really created a storm here, huh?
I have never liked Sublime, LimeLite, Sassy Grass Green or FM3 Panther Pink. I appreciate that they are part of our history and cars that were originally painted that color should retain their heritage. I prefer the other colors though.
Its funny the comments about how the "boring" color cars seem to survive longer. Maybe some truth there. The sedate looking cars may have been owned by people with a more conservative style of driving.
I'm sure that I am not alone in how my tastes have changes over the years. I didn't like green or brown cars while growing up but now an F8 car with black stripes is a nice looking combination.

I like the high impact colors as they are a link to the time the car was made in. Remember all the pyschadelic stuff of the late 60s and early 70s? I also get a kick out of the color combinations of 50s cars. Think turquoise and white, black and yellow, red and white, and how about Dodge's3 tone black, grey, and pink cars?
Color combinations and colors go in and out of style.
I used to remodel houses, and always could make a close guess on about when they were built based on the color of the ceramic tiles in the bathrooms, or the built in kitchen appliances....
