I finally have the car in the driveway and picked up a LOT of four speed parts at a swap meet to do a conversion from a 727. I -think- all I have left to get is the flywheel, the clutch and the pedals. I've read the clutch/brake pedal assembly from a 66-70 will work? My car is a 68 Charger with the HP 383. If anyone can help me out with a set, that would be great! I'm just looking to get it on the road, they don't have to be pretty, just functional!

Thanks!

66-70 B body pedals will work on your 68. Subtle look differences on the 66-67 versus the 68-70 and the 70 has a clutch safety switch(just remove it)...

Don't forget the extra support bracket through the firewall for the clutch spring pedal bracket..

Don't forget this bracket for the Z bar mounting stud on the frame rail...

Also a 4spd transmission mount...different from an automatic

Thanks - I got the 4 speed, crossmember, Hurst shifter, Hurst shifter installation kit, z bar, push rod, adjustment rod, frame bracket, torque rod (z bar) service kit (pivot balls, vinyl bushings, clips, etc), bell housing, fork. Oh, still need the tunnel hump also. Pedals, hump, flywheel, clutch, assorted bolts and such to put it all together with the engine! And transmission mount that goes in the crossmember.

A/C There are two pedal assemblies, factory A/C and non A/C does it matter to you?
one has a round hole for non ac, and one has a rectangular hole so the vent tube for the left A/C vent can go through it.

That is not correct.....66-67 had a round hole and 68-70 had an oval hole...There were not 2 assemblies available in a single model year...

The reason I mentioned it is I sold a pair of pedals a year ago to someone with a 70 GTX. He specifically Insisted that the pedal assy be compatible with factory A/C. I then compared two pedal assemblies I had from both the 68 models mentioned, and the non air Belvedere had a round hole (1968 Belvedere). And, The pedals from the 68 charger with A/C was indeed oval.
Maybe the round hole type got put in early in the year?

In any event, I have one set left, with the round hole.
I want to correct myself, I looked in the garage and the round hole pedal assy is sold, but I do have one with the Oval shape, which may be more correct for your car.

My car does have factory air - I guess I need the oval hole set? I'll send you a PM!

The belvedere could have been an early build and got a 67 set. Chrysler did NOT make two 4spd pedal assemblies in a single model year...Just think about the assembly line it makes no sense...Furthermore, there is only a single part number listed in 68, 69, 70 for 4spd pedals in the parts book...

Thanks for the link to the clutch support bracket at Brewer's - I had seen that part listed somewhere else and had forgotten. I'll add it to the list!

Thanks! Another forum member has offered up a set that should work.
Thanks again
