I'm in the middle of rebuilding the front suspension on my Polara (factory 383 4 speed). Today I pressed out the upper "A" arm bushings and went to install the new ones I purchased from Rock Auto...... and the new ones are way too small.
The ones I removed measured 1.88" long, and the taper was 1.152" to 1.176". The new ones (Moog K325) measured 1.925" long, and the taper is 1.125" to 1.135" which is way too small. I checked with Rock Auto and they called Moog to verify the size. Moog verified the length 1.925" and the taper 1.125" to 1.135" and said they should fit my '64 Polara ..... but they don't.
Does anyone know if there were different size bushings for the '64 or is it possible my control arms have been swapped out somewhere along the line? I'm the second owner of this car and I'm quite sure the original owner has passed away by now, so there's no way I know to verify if they've been swapped.
Any suggestions???
