So this guy calls me looking for a '66 Charger front clip. Grille, hood, rad support etc. I tell him I have all but the rad support. We meet. He drives up in a Honda. I'm thinking if he needs a rad support he must have had an accident. I ask about his Charger. He doesn't own a Charger. He wants the clip to put on a Nissan 240sx that he races.
He's about 25 and loves the Charger front end. I explained the basics of the rotating headlights. He was expecting plug and play. Not plug and relays and motors and etc. But he thought it was cool. I told him to send me pics of his progress.

what a waste of a good charger front end
I agree. But hoods are abundant. The grill is driver quality. He's not using any bright work ie hood or C moldings etc. I also thought that a 25 year old had an interest in the classic car hobby, albeit, indirectly.

If He likes it & it serves His desire, then it's no waste....the car hobby is about chasing one's own vision. IMO daring to be different beats hell out of running with the pack. It's easy to dictate what everybody else should do with Their stuff....takes no effort to be a critic. My 2 cents.

Saw a 1950 Ford pickup, with a 79" Firebird front end less the hood where the original Ford hood was retained. So the thought is out there. :realcrazy:

Heh,heh....my project comes immediately to mind.

If he does a clean job, I'm sure I'd love it.

A former student of mine is a big VW guy. Does real clean work, nice turbo, clean body lines and stance. Hot rodding is hot rodding.

maybe the front will find a proper home some time down the line
