I don’t remember any wars they've had in over 60 years, so these medals must be for heroism in marching, posturing and dancing!

I'm not a fan of North Korea, but they legitimately have one of the largest, best equipped militaries on the planet. What would have happened in Gulf 1 or Gulf 2 if Sadam Husein had nukes? They don't have any recent action, but in a communist state with no food, jobs, etc., there's not much else to do but train. These guys are no joke & their leader is a crack-pot

It's really hard to say on that. Remember they haven't had a conflict since 1953. What looks impressive on the propaganda films they release could all be a mirage. The USSR during the height of the Cold War used to put on similar displays of their might and equipment etc to scare the west into thinking they were stronger than they were. Years after defectors that were in the know coughed up that many of the missiles and such that they put on display were actually fake and had to be tied down so they didn't blow over during the parades. Remember they are a nuclear power too. North Korea has nukes - and they are to be feared because they have an unstable leader - but all may not be as it appears - you might also remember they said the same thing about Sadaams revolutionary guard before the first gulf war - yet when confronted by shock and awe and the overwhelming power of our military they threw down their weapons and surrendered. I'm not saying North Korea would do that - but just saying doubt they could come close to standing up to American muscle.
