HI all. I am in Ontario and a new owner of 1974 satellite sebring driver.
ALways lo ed old mopar...
HEre is what i got myself into:
previous owner swapped the 318 and 904 for a 383 and 727.
2468130-8 = motor casting number
9-20-66 is date of manufacture
Has 2bbl 0-1924 Carter Carb
2843681 intake serial number
NOt sure if motor was a 4bbl originally but would like to do that if i can do without swapping cam.
Body pretty solid. 20+ year old paint...good at 10 feet.
Original floor had weak spots and new sheet metal had been rivoted in from inside. Looks solid.
Gas tank leaks from right side seal where gas pump insert is. Have to keep below that line.
TRanny steady drip of ATF even when shut off. Exchanged the 727 pan gasket but still drips. now i can see it is coming from drivers side above the pan...so some other gasket not pan is problem.
Steering box drips very little...not issue now.
HEater core disconnected. No heat. Not really an issue it is a summer car.
FUel guage not working.
Strange: pedals are for a standard tranny....there is a disconnected clutch pedal held up under the carpet. underneath it looks like there was a big hole for a stick tranny that is covered by rivoted sheet metal in the floor. BUT the steering column had a shifter on it PNRD12 are on it. the steering column shifter is gone. 3 speed 727 auto tranny now in it shifted by a B&M quicksilver.
Am no motorhead...i do oil changes, brakes jobs and other minor stuff. i have a feeling that will improve as i deal with all the issues already identified, but will need to lean on you veterans PLEASE.
