I'm sure this has been discussed somewhere before and I just haven't been able to find it but what color orange is the car in the picture attached?

It was listed as Vitamin C on the page but the Vitamin C cars I have seen in person are way darker and closer to Tor Red.

If anyone has ordered a color like the one in the picture could you share the PPG color code, Sherwin Williams color #, or color identifier you ordered.

Thanks!

not sure about a number........ but I am currently working on a hemi orange challenger code V2 (tor-red if it were plymouth). the hemi orange is very red as compared to the other oranges, makes them look like a pumpkin

that is a ppg color chart, looks like 999 is the chip.......60436 is the number......... single asterisk indicates 1969 spring color only, must be the 69 1/2 color for the A12 cars......... open the link

edit: V2 (double asterisk) is also a spring 1969 color, but also used in 70

Looks like the later used hemi orange engine paint (not the race hemi orange but the other hemiorange from the 70s)

Thanks guys, it looks closest to the 'Orange' 60436 from 69 by far, IMO. I've heard that there noticeable variation in the same colors coming out of different factories (slight, but still noticeable side-by-side), can anyone confirm/deny that? (curious side note)

bschomske, is the car in your peofile picture consudered Vitamina C?

yes it is.. Code 99 99 Not 999..All specialty colors that year were that code.Your not standard colors...

Love resurrecting old posts….. I was curious about the OP’s color question and I don’t think it was ever identified? I am still looking for a final color choice and one of the is factory “Orange” from 1970 which looks like this color. Just Orange 999 60436 Dodge. Makes sense to me. Anyone else think differently?

Maybe it’s Hugger Orange? I know this isn’t a Chrysler colour. Kim
What makes you say this? I haven’t seen Chrysler “Orange” in person and wonder how it differs from the OP shot?

Looks like it might supposed to be K2, This is my K2 Challenger though.

This is just my opinion, and fuzzy memory.
GM used a green in 69 that was identical to one of the Mopar greens (rallyegreen?) used at the end of the year (on mopar). I think the same deal happened with hugger orange. I think it is Omaha Orange on a Mopar.
But Omaha was discontinued in the middle of 69, and wouldn't be right on a 70. But then, who says the owner of the o.p.'s 70 runner painted it a '70 color?

I don't know about '70, but the '69 special second half year colors could be coded 95, 96, or 99. My Bahama yellow (butterscotch) is 96.
