Alignment Issue question

Hey guys we are working on doing an alignment on our lemons car, anyways we did a corner weight of the car. The car is pretty level now and weights look good. The issue is camber from side to side.

Our passenger side is maxing out around -3.5 degrees. Which might be a little much. Probably wanting around -3. However our drivers side is maxing out at -1.5 degrees. Being its going road racing and the driver side is going to take the most beating as the course is more right hand turns the extra camber will be a good thing.

So the suspension is all stock. Looks like the lowers control arms were welded with some flat steel. Old team must have boxed them in. The lower control arm does not look bent. Upper control arms are stock replacement units and looked the same. We had to change the alignment bolts and both arms did not look bent. Spindles are 73+ A-body. Well the casting number was on one. The other was not listed. However both spindles were the same height. So I do not think one is a 73+ b body unit. Spindles looked straight and I figure a stock control arm would bend first over the spindle.

So I was curious what we could look for. Seems like something could be bent but nothing looks like it. Does not look like the lower control arm has any adjustment. Maybe a bent spindle? Never checked stuff before we swapped off from the 72 b-body spindles. But at that point the car was leaning due preload bolt for the torsen bar was backed out.

shouldn't be an issue with modern tires, here is an old but good article on alignment. I have gone by the street performance specs on the chart for years.

Good article. Still wanting to get more than -1.5. The car is a dedicated track car with small 245/40/15 tires. Anyways curious why one side gets into range an the other side does not. By that article we want -2 to -3 degrees. Only going with -1 for us would melt the outside edges. It does on my Miata let alone a 3450lb Coronet. CMP the track we are going to is not easy on tires. So wanting that extra camber. -1.5 could work but at least want -2.

yeah factory specs on these cars just wont let you get there and it is common for each side to be different because the factory usually had different tolerences for each side. Best option is to go with tubular upper control arms but they are pricey.

Yeah being this is a lemons car that is out of the current budget. Would be nice to do some suspension work but for class c it needs to be soft stock suspension. Maybe after class C we can work on it.
