I need a drive shaft for a 68 Coronet 2dr hardtop with a 727 transmission.

Thanks

You need to say if you have an 8.75 or a Dana 60 and what u-joint your looking for.
Sorry new to the Mopar stuff.
Its an 8 3/4 rear and forgive me but I dont know what u-joint.
The car was a 318 with a 904 if that helps.

I have a driveshaft removed from a 1968 Coronet 318 auto 904 trans. 8-3/4 2.76 open. It's to my best knowledge that all 68 B Body cars came with an 8-3/4 rear end. If you're still looking send me a PM and I can go more into detail.

EDIT: I mis-read the OP's WTB ad, my mistake.

You also should know the length you need.
I don't know if rubber trans mount for a 904 is the same as a 727. You should have engine and trans in car before buying d shaft.

Thanks for your help and knowledge.
I was under the impression that I need a 52" shaft. Is it not that easy.

I hope you understand I'm not trying to give you a hard time just trying to learn.

At this point it sounds like it might be easier to keep the shaft I have and find a car that it will fit.
Thanks again

Everyone is making this way too complicated. He said he is CONVERTING to a 727. That eliminates all original 904 application driveshafts from the picture. They are too long, as the above picture even confirms. The service manual ( remember them ) and the parts book show lenght for each engine/trans applications. I told him in a PM the correct lenght, 52", there is no debate. Only option is what U joint size choice to make the swap easier, in his case the 'small' 7260 would do it. Stock applications for 68 came both sizes of joints and yoke for the 727, depends on engine.
