We actually offer a rebuild kit for that exact procedure. It includes new pivot shafts, control arm bushings, stiffening plates and adjusters. The kit is available in either rubber or polygraphite.

Good stuff, I thought about a tap too but know it would be tough to find or afford. I took mine out with a sharp chisel.
