Hrmm, many thoughts....100 MPH?

I'm almost embarrassed to say how fast we used to go on main arteries while street racing back in the day. We were young and stupid. You're right - not everyone made it home. Still did it. Scared to tromp on that mighty beast these days - not even on the freeway. My racing balls were left in the 80's.

All accelerated objects come to a stop at some point in time. Hellcats are not excluded from this principle. Proof of this is called reality.

My '70 Barracuda Gran Coupe 383 2 bbl, upgraded to a DP4B & 3310 with cheap headers would put the speedo needle well past the 120 mark. I was young & stupid. Then got into real drag racing.

Uhmmm the runways at sfo international where I work are 6500 feet and 5500 feet.

I pushed a 57 DeSoto to peg.--120? Glad I didn't know then what I know now.

On second thought--At the time I felt the car should be fine all the way to the top of the speedometer.:p

Must be some kind of prestige thing to buy a Hellcat and then not drive it. 600 plus hp is not required to do 65 mph or 100 for that matter. But as with anything common sense goes a long way.

Wow, i thought there would be a longer one. What's the heaviest birds that operate in & out of? SFO has international flights going across the pond , right?

Avg. length of international airport runway is around 10,000 feet, there is an 18,000 ft. commercial/general aviation runway in Tibet.
Tucson International has an 11,000 ft runway.

How long was that runway in the end of the Fast and Furious 7 movie? That final action sequence was 20 minutes long. That runway must have been at least 25-28 miles long.

Thats verily 70 mph. Must have been an old movie set where the car sits still and the back ground moves.
