Need some advice

I would change the oil and tear open the filter for any signs of metal. Check the starter/dust cover, could be catching/hanging up on the flywheel. Did you run the car in neutral so the torque converter can build up fluid?
It is a 4 speed car.
Sometimes a bolt just rattles loose and gets trapped. I had a buddy lose a flywheel bolt in a Bronco. It lodged in the bellhousing somewhere and prevented the engine from spinning over. He heard a clang/scrape noise, shut it down and it was locked solid when he tried to restart. Being a 4wd, it was faster to pull the engine rather than 2 drive shafts, an exhaust system, transfer case and transmission. I've also seen incidents where A pressure plate bolt can back out too. A spring in the pressure plate could have broken or fallen out, getting rattled around in the bellhousing as the engine ran.
Unrelated, but...I've had several torque converter shields have a small deformation, just enough for the torque converter bolts to scrape as they spin by. I usually run without them. I don't drive in the rain or on dirt roads like them Duke boys...
I know that nobody thinks that it is a good idea to let an engine run while something is making noise but how do you determine where to look? A brief start and run of a few seconds may help you zero in on where to look. If the oil pressure is good, I'd tend to look at the transmission/clutch area.

Thanks it's nice just I knew it needed good once over and was going In tomorrow for it now it's more of a problem . But it can be fixed

Update: noise was the lifters so that's good news . As far as to why the oil pump is not working no clue yet , he mentioned distributor could be broken I'm
Not sure why or how that would happen or cause no oil circulation I'm
Learning as I go...
more answers tomorrow good news is at this point we don't think it hurt the motor since was under no load and was able to shut her off right away ..

Oil pump is run off the same shaft as the distributor driven by a gear turned by the cam.
Glad to hear it wasn't more serious. You may have saved a bunch of money by getting it shutdown right away. Hope the bearings didn't get harmed.

Oh ok that makes since now I have no idea but like learning I bought the service manual for 70 and it was looking pretty dim in its suggestions to why no oil
Pressure

FYI I have this exact car color options etc but mine is only 383 hp with and a 3 speed manual on the floor with ac.

Cool Ya have pics of it ? And anyone know what WOM's are ?

Awesome how many do ya have ? So cool that's gonna be a nice Charger what are your plans for it ?

You may have snapped the shear pin on the distributor gear shaft and or snapped the oil pump shaft right at the oil pump, seen it happen before. Hopefully you got it shut down asap before stuff went sideways. Easy to diagnose, pull distributor out get a long pair of needle nose pliers and pull the intermediate shaft out. If in fact that broke, no oil pressure. Great looking car btw

Ok got to the bottom of it an she’s back on the road . We found Two pieces of wire from a wire wheel or a Cup
Brush in the oil pick up made it through the pick up screen and was stuck in the valve preventing the oil from going up to the motor pulled the pan found 2 more and one more in the oil filter. Thank the
Mopar Gods for designing that motor that prevented that metal from getting in the motor destroying it Idiots. Ya know whom ever worked on her before Must have had the pan off and close to someone with a cup brush . Or dropped the pan and Cup Brushed the gasket surface with the pan close by, Fu@&$ing morons ya never work on a car with Cup brush, angle grinder with Any engine components open EVER!!!!!!!!
Drove her all Around today running errands just love it !
