New member. Joined to help dad with his 69 Charger.

Welcome. Find the numbers on the pad below the distributor and look down just above the oil pan on the side of the motor and give us those #s. They should clear up your paint questions...

Assuming the drivers side of the block for the second numbers you asked for?

Welcome to the site! That's one sweet Charger and very cool your dad kept it all these years!

Thanks man. That made me smile. My dad has always been there for us over the years, so being able to help him for a change feels good. And the fact that at 47, he’s finally letting me TOUCH his car feels good too. Lol.

That picture of me and him changing oil was just taken last Monday... and it’s the FIRST bolt I’ve ever turned on that car, no lie. And he’s had the car longer than ME! Haha. It’s also the the first time we’ve ever worked on a car together. While it was just an oil change, it meant the world to me.

Welcome from Canada, sweet charger, your air cleaner would have had a pie pan insert that said 383 magnum if it is an unsilenced air cleaner, not a decal. You can get one at your local dealer, it should be a red one for 69 I believe. Seen the orange and torquise thing before not a big deal on an early 69.Only seen holleys on 70 4spd cars myself , but who knows.

Pie tin for the air cleaner on a 69 is the orange one. Red is for 68.

Welcome aboard & sweet car. Start a new thread on your research so I can follow it. You're gonna have a blast!
