I dont know if this helps but on line it showing 71 to 79 small block is it a point distributor?

That doesn't seem right. Mag electronic distributors started in '71.

It's electronic. My info. only goes to 1976. I suspect this one is probably from '77 or '78. Just guessing. But it would be nice to know for sure.

I am pretty sure it is 81, my books stop at 80 and the dist #s are just under it.

38xxxxx PN indicates is 75/77 period ( toward to 75 but last long up to 77 or even later )
