Hi All,
I think you may tell me what I already know, but I replaced the pulley on a new alternator I got a while back and threw it in the car. I’ve been getting some belt squeal every now and then, mainly when there is a drain on the power, ie night time.
I figured I hadn’t lined up the pulley with the others right. So while the radiator is out I thought I’d press the pulley on a bit further.
After pulling it out I’ve just noticed I have a lot of in and out play in the pulley shaft. No side ways play, just in and out.
Is this normal? Or are the bearing stuffed and in need of replacement?
Any advice?
Cheers!
