Hearing about interior fires and the fact that a new one is less then $5, should I restore the original or break it out and put in a new one?

Thanks again!

Not sure how a brake switch could cause an interior fire. Its basically a pass through circuit for ground. Most interior fires are the result of AMP gauge lug failure. Go with a new one if they are available.

With the understanding that nothing is made now like it was back then! Still got the original in my ‘68.
