thank you plow boy

Well, I grew up in SW PA but after getting discharged from the USAF, I stayed in Central CA. Been here for 30 years now. The immediate area isn't very pretty, but drive 2 hours to the east I'm in Yosemite. Two hours (or so) to the west, the coast.

lets hear from all you WI folk

My state, Co-net-ac-rap is beautiful because a state road crew was patching potholes with loose fine gravel!
Went by there work 2 hours later and all the gravel was in the gutter. Maybe they'll be back tomorrow! What a beautiful state..................of CHAOS!!!!

Taxachusetts isn't much better.

Great photo documentary - someone finally spoke the whole truth about California. Thanks!
Yes indeed. Having only been to So Cal, the only time I 've been more northerly was to Vallejo, albeit very briefly. I'd certainly like to visit Nor Cal.

How about beautiful Long Island NY ? My favorite place used to be NY National Speedway years ago. Besides the great south shore beaches like Jones, Fire Island, and the Hamptons, and fishing out of Captree, I loved going to the north shore Oyster Bay in my youth.

Okay I live on Monument Pass, Colorado. The Rockies start about 2 miles due west. We look out over the Air Force Academy. That's the Thunderbirds. Look closely. When they fly over I can see the pilots clearly. I know it's brash but you asked about my state. Most don't know about a third of Colorado is high-plains, arid desert. It good enough for antelope but not really cattle or crops.

Wow, that's cool. It's amazing how the mountains just seem to jut out, from the flat plains.

I lived in Co Sprgs for 10 years. 1980 to 1990. I drove the pass a million times. Love and miss the area. Would still like to be living there but the wife’s family is all here in CA. My view off my back deck was Pikes Peak and the Academy.

Colorado is a truly spectacular place to see and visit. Ive only been to the Denver area, was up in the foothills. Visited Vail, did the train ride. Mountains are beautiful. I love the time i rocked the baby to sleep while looking out the window and seeing the Rockies in the background. The plains are another thing all together. Im driving back from the supermarket down the highway, just wide open plains as far as the eye can see and those mountains to the West
As the song goes, Im a NYC born and raised, and i dont know if i can or will ever leave. The Jersey shore were i try now to spend a good amount of time is also spectacular. There is something about walking the beach when its mostly deserted that does something for clearing ones head. The draw of the ocean, and the smell of salt air is a hard thing to resist.
For me the ferry trip into Manhattan as the sun comes up, passing by Lady Liberty to the sunny skies of Ca and unto a paradise in the pacific called Hawaii, its a beautiful country

WI hey? Beer, cheese, well then the cheese plugs ya up then go get a beer to unplug ya...shoveling snow helps too. Ask me this question around May and I may be more in the mood to describe the beauty...
