So its been awhile since i've sold my last Mopar. I wanna say it was early 2012 when I sold my old 70 Satellite. Im looking to make a deal on another one within the next month or so. I have to travel from Texas to North Carolina to get it but hey its the love of a Mopar.

My thing is I would like to have a nice driver as i work on the slowly restoring the car. After the typical change of fluids, brakes and tires what would you guys recommend being done right away?

I get the suspension but im thinking fix the cheap stuff first then move more too the Gucci parts.

Im sure you're all thinking "well what kinda condition is the car in?"

I'd say its somewhere in the 6/10 range. Typical rust spots, trunk, rear window, drip rails, etc.

I know still kinda vague...

Just wondering what you guys would do to get a decent little 70 Satellite with a 318 on the road again.

Stupid question? I have a dumb answer.

Let's see....
1. TOW the car home unless it's your brother's car, he drives it every day & you trust him. You don't want to break down in Kentucky or wherever.
2. Brakes
3. Tires
4. Steering (check tie rod ends & ball joints & bushings)
5. ALL Fluids
6. Flush cooling system
7. Thermostat
8. Radiator & Heater hoses
9. Put 1/2 can Sea Foam + 2 bottles Heet (red) in gas tank & add a large magnet or two to the tank
10. Fuel filter
11. Air filter (oil filter comes with changing oil)

Then see where you're at & go from there....my 2-cents.

I'd start with replacing brake lines & hoses, then check the master & wheel cylinders, pads/rotors/shoes/drums. Replace what's bad, you need to stop. Then , what purple says is a good list.

#1 Make it Safe! You never know what others have done
#2 Make it reliable like these two said ^^^^^
#3 Enjoy
#4 Make a plan for what you want to do

Agreed......do a lot more than just a once-over on the brakes..wile E is right.

Thanks a lot for the input!

More or less what I expected.

I'll keep you guys posted on what happens next!
