AIR CLEANER IDENTITY

This air cleaner has been on my dads 68 gtx for as long as I can remember. I know its not right for it. Does anyone know what its for ? Would anyone want to trade it for an original 68 440 gtx air cleaner ? Less the pie tin

IIRC, that is correct for a 67. Isnt your Dad's a 67?

My dad has 2 67s & 1 68 GTXs The air cleaners on his 67s look nothing like the one in the pictures I posted.

I checked out that site & it says it is a 67 68 A body 383 4bbl, early 68 B body.

Depends on when his car was built. Chrysler did lots of undocumented maneuvering when using up engines and other parts during a model year change. It wasn't just limited to "my engine should be orange but its blue!" That's not the 11 inch unsilenced unit, but it still may have came from the factory.

Yea he has owned the 68 since 74. Original 55,800 miles. My sister & I might end up selling it & want to get the right air cleaner for it.

OK guys after contacting some people, finding out the build date of the car that air cleaner on my dads 68 GTX is the original one. So it is not for sale sorry

Yep you are right The one on my dads 67 GTX is the same except for the dual snorkles on it.

my friends 69 R/T charger has this one....... smaller than my 68
