what's the fastest you have drove your car?

I'm guessing 130 in my 68 Sport Satellite stock 383 3.23 gears. Had big tires on the car at the time when the speed odometer was on 60 car was running 68.I got into it with an 03 mustang GT buried the speedo at 120 before i looked up and realized he had quit trying then i let out of it.

Don't they have a "memory" that you can bring up?

Many cars do. My Hellcat does. I can bring up much information about what the car has endured. Such as G forces for accelerating and braking as well as cornering.

And BTW I get an email from my car periodically to tell me how it's doing as far as working properly goes. :D
I'm glad I don't do Facebook for many reasons:wetting:

I'm thinking you wouldn't want to be taking a picture of your speedometer at almost 200 mph.

That would not be necessary. The screen that shows that information can be brought up in a parking lot. It is always there to be seen.

And BTW--shame on you for suggesting that I access my phone for a pic of the dash at 200mph. I am just glad that I have a cup holder for my beer for a moment like that. Geez

So, he could have brought up the screen, took a pic of it while the door was open? Ok

Kind of scary to me. Does your local sheriff get periodic emails as well, to tell him what your highest speed has been? :)

Great question.--And that leads to questions about qualifying for insurance and many others like employment, etc.

Yes, it's bad enough that the newer cars have the "black box" and they can tell what the car was doing before an accident. Could be beneficial if you were in the right but not so if you weren't.

How fast does one need to go to make telephone poles look like 1 continues pole. That fast.

I recently went to the dealer because my car was in "limp mode".
My question/issue was dismissed immediately. All they wanted to know is who I was. -From there they plugged a (wireless) device into my car and asked me to sit back and wait.
When the car was good to go and I asked a couple of questions and they essentially pushed me out the door saying it was an internal failure of the PTCM which they replaced with a (I presume to be ) shiny new one.
Life is good again for an old wrench turning gear head fossil that I am.

135 in my 69 charger with a 383 trying to race a porsche young and dumb

And the 'newer' cars means that the ones that they can download are starting to get kinda old. IIRC, you can download the OBDII system going back to 96. A friend of mine has a son that's an accident investigator and I'll ask him how far back they can go....

Got clocked doing 72 in a 60. Only time pulled over for speeding. Told the officer I couldn't read the white faced gauges.

Times pulled over for not driving fast enough, too many to list.

120mph in a smart car on the autobahn once. Seemed faster in that gocart but I was the slowest on the highway as the bmw's and benz's flew past me.

110 in the car and 95 on my bike. I was trying for 100+ on the bike but the front wheel started wobbling way to much.

Had the old 69 Charger pegged for a few miles, little over 150 mph. Lowly 383 HiPo, built for my oldest kid. Late at night, no traffic, nice straight road. Spent half that time in the air, over the bumps.

112 in my Satellite about 2 weeks after I got it. On a very lightly used nearly new 4 lane connector with sweeping curves. Was only intending to do about 80 but after I got to the other end and tuned around, a 350z passed me at 80, so I got more into it. Was still pulling easy at 110 but didn't really trust it to go the extra to get it buried.

Been about 110 on a motorcycle, and that is a MUCH more scary feeling.

Had my 70 Super Bee buried on it's 150. After stopping, the guy I was racing in his trans am GTA said "no way, we were only doing 135". I had to remind him that I was passing him at the time :)

Either way, it still makes the OP an idiot for traveling that speed on a public road. I drive for a living, people like that get OTHER people killed.
