Over 65

We found a wonderful doc THAT GOT HER OFF THE STEROIDS!!

They had me on steroids for about a year. It took that long to get my inflammation down to where it was controllable again. I went through a major flare up and they were giving me transfusions of pure steroids. I felt like Superman! Not a good thing to stay on for a long time. I was useing Prednisone off and on also. Not a good thing to be on either.

For me, it does seem to go into remission for a short time but can start up again without warning. It's very hard to find what works for you. You just have to try different meds and see how it works. Each person is different in what works the best. A person that I worked with was taking Methotrexate and it was tearing him up. Very hard on the liver. He had very advanced RA. He told me to never let them put you on it. My doctor says he has many of his patients on it. I still tell him no thanks.

I liked taking Enbril but it lowered my immune system just enough to set off a case of shingles. I ended up with permanent nerve damage in my left arm and hand. Now I'm afraid to try a bio med again. Day at a time, day at a time...

For me, at 56, it's not the years, it's the miles. Very hard physical work and play, especially late teens to late 20s, then still physical work in my 40s.
46 was way better than 56. The only thing that would fix my ailments is a time machine.

Thanks for the compliment but I'm starting to show my age LOL.... When i became a grandparent i was 53 and i took that little sweetheart everywhere with me. I cant tell you how many times older women were not sure if she was my child or a grandchild. I swear that kid if i was single would have been the best chick, well older chicken magnet ever! I had a lot of fun with her and my wife would get so pissed and of course i played it for everything it was worth.
The issue now for me is how much longer. There are so many things to consider. I fell today, in front of a few guys and i felt like a invalid. I have some physical issues like knees, shoulder and neck, what really bothers me is night time leg cramps after all day standing/walking/climbing. Its worse in the summer . I just wanted to know how guys around the same age are doing. I guess were all more or less in the same boat.
Got cramps drink more water.
Have a few more more years on you Steve with the Grandparent thing. I will be 63 next week the oldest grandson will be 23 in June. One great grandson with hopefully more to come.

Turning 52 next month and have had some injuries - broken bones as well as played a lot of sports .
Had a hip replacement almost two years ago best thing I ever did the pain used to be unbearable I knew it was coming since I was 32 .
I am a corporate white collar guy but wish sometimes I became someone who works with his hands quite often .Someone here mentioned the company and its pressure cooker to work at but I like it and the pay is good .
The stress can get you I'm thinking 60 I'll retire and move to a nice little property build the garage I want and have a garden to keep me busy ..
I exercise everyday don't smoke and am more of a binge drinker meaning I don't drink often just all at once .
I just love to mountain bike and do it often as I can .
Keep going guys try to take care of yourselves as we get older .
It's nice to be able to read about people being honest about how they feel sharing will help you get through tough times .

Well, one thing's for sure. Every person is different, so to each his own.
