70 rr what do you think about it

Yep, you are correct, it is FJ5. Looked like B5 on my small phone screen.

wantonebad70, I would highly suggest you listen to the guys on here and think long and hard about what you are looking for and willing to spend. I was going to post this on the orange RR you listed that was from craigslist, but it looks like that thread was deleted.

You mention you want a driver and neither of the orange one or this green one will be a driver. I may be wrong, but think more likely you will drive them once, or maybe a few time (if they are solid enough to let you) only to find out all the stuff they need to have repaired/rebuilt/replaced/etc. and then you are down the rabbit hole of more money, that you mention you don't necessarily have, other wise you would be in a different starting price point.

It takes time to find the right car, but the right car is out there. Don't let your frustration allow you to make a bad decision.

I was originally looking for a 1969 Roadrunner for several years, but they realized that a nice driver was out of my (at the time) price range, when I came across a sweet deal on a really nice driver 67 R/T. It was in really good shape and super solid, but I still dumped $4k in it to take care of all the things it needed to make it a safe and road worthy daily driver; brakes and lines, suspension, fuel lines, an electrical birds nest (wiring), etc. and I still have a long laundry list of other things I still want to do.

Now, unfortunately I don't have the tools or knowledge that a lot of the guys on here do, and you can save some money if you can do the work yourself, but if your max is $20k and you max out on the purchase, you will most likely regret it.

If your max is $20k, I say you need to be around $13k-$17k on your starting price and leave yourself some money for the repairs and fixes you will need; as anything in that price range will require some repairs, and those will just be to make sure it's road worthy. We are not even talking about body work, motor work, etc.

Or keep saving and get into one that is mostly done (mechanical and solid body) and only needs minor work, like trim pieces, carpet, etc.

Main points are don't get discouraged there is a Mopar out there for you, and don't make a spur of the moment decision in frustration and end up regretting it.

If it's not your daily driver, and it won't rot while you do what needs to be done, and you plan what that is and address those needs in a smart way, by "groups" if possible of associated items, that will make up for getting a little over your head to get what you want when you want it.

slow down and stop wanting it yesterday.
the instant gratification you lust for will go away mighty quickly once you realize you are buried
neck deep into a money pit. (not hard to do with these cars)
and so far that is all i have seen you post on here.
deals come and go very quickly
you need to have the patience to search every day
until you find the one.
when you do find it
you won't have to ask about it on here, you will know it on your own.

I looked for 30 years to find THE right Super Bee that i wanted.

Patience grasshopper...

That could have been 29 years of driving one and occasionally shutting it down to do what needs or wants had to be done with it.
I know I'm "bucking the tide" here, but if he can find a car that he can enjoy some with some periods of down time to save money for work the car needs or he wants to do and the down time it takes to do it, that is more time to enjoy ownership/driving. If you already HAVE a car, you can plan for what it needs. If he finds something later he likes better, he can sell the one he gets now.
YOLO

Agreed. That's why we bought a nice little A body driver to enjoy while we gather up the ones we really want.

Good decision. I need to write a book on my 5 year, 4 state travel b body search. Lost titles, title loans, massive misrepresentation (lies), etc.
Buy the used challenger and save up 40 grand for your 70. Time is on your side as prices are stabilizing and even dropping.

this limelight 70 is very interesting, he owns it 40 years since 77,
you guy are dead wrong about this car.
this is not my first car! I spoke to the Owner he and his wife are on SS all he has keft is his mopar to sell sad yes but as they say it is what it is. If you spoke to him you wuld understand. the motor was rebuilt years ago and barly driven.
granted the exhuast dosnt look perfct but since when did exhaust stop you from buying a car. it was 27k originally he had a buyer at 21k that is why he lowered it he wanted to go threw ebay only. they guy flaked out and dint have an ebay acoount.
so he relisted it at 25k. i offered him 19k he came back at 22k, too much i think 19 is fair with all the paper work he has and a solid body. Yes it was repainted years ago and he said he got burned the guy didnt stripe it he just primed over it and painted it thats why it has some overspray and stuff. seats are new tank is new, exhaust, tires, etc, looks deceiving but take a good look and don't assume. definetly far from perfect, but atleast it was rotesired cars like that are never the same.
id rather have a car that was never taken apart and is rough around the edges a bit than a retstored car anyday.
As they say they are only original once.

Your money your choice, but to do that car right it’ll need to be pulled all the way apart, 0 nuts and bolts on it. I’m on my third resto right now. That car is hiding a lot. But, go get it and find out how wrong we are

Lots to be said for nice drivers.

That my friend is so untrue.
Every nut and bolt has to come apart???
when you do that right there the car is never the same never!
You guys who do that are amateur's compared to the factory.
Half the guys on here don't even know how to turn a screw driver, i have seen it.

Just because you bably on here about stuff dosn't make it reality.

Way to go, insult most of the folks your asking for opinions. Buy it or don't, pretty sure nobody really cares after that tirade.

So either you own a body shop or you have a bitters pass at Barrett Jackson which one is it? How was that insulting to have to members?
