I have an earlier year pair of AMD covers on mine. Did have to cut out one of the baffles, and tig it in correctly, since they bothered putting it in crooked. Past that, no complaints.

Thanks miller, can I ask, crooked in which way? ie did it prevent them from fitting over the valve gear or did it prevent the breather / pcv fit properly?

I had heard that some aftermarket parts were made of thinner gauge material than stock, so were tricky to get a good seal? AMD advertise theirs as 21 gauge. I presume this compares favourably with the originals? I haven't measured ours yet...

buy them from someone reputable and you should have no issues.
when they first came out there were some issues with them
they have been retooled a few times since then and now are fine.
the problem is a few of the earlier versions are still out there and are being sold
and you have no way to know what your getting
unless you use a reputable source like AMD itself or one of the bigger vendors.

bought mine from Mancini

Just installed a set a few weeks ago. My only complaint is the wire loom tabs are a little more flexible than the stock tabs(feels like if you bend them too many times they'll break)

Thanks for all the replies guys... sorry for the slow response - been weighing up our options.
Good to hear the AMD's are as good as you'd expect/hope (going by their reputation for their sheet metal), and at a reasonable price too.
But in this case, as we already have a decent pair (albeit without baffles), it'll be quicker and cheaper for us to get some baffles added to ours and repainted locally.
Thanks again
