Hey fellas. I have these spindles and brakes on the front of my 67 Coronet. When I got them they were a rusted mess and I was only able to salvage the spindles and the brackets and bolts. Now that I am putting everything back together I find that the fine thread 5/8" bolts that fasten the caliper adapter bracket to the spindle are about 3/4" too short. Do I maybe have the wrong ball joint arm? This one has no threads in the holes. Also this figure from the FSM shows an "O" ring under the slider clip. Never saw such a thing on disc brakes and it doesn't say if there is one on the bottom as well. If they are on there , why?

I have not ever had any F-body spindles and calipers apart.. but does seem odd, to have an O-ring in there. Must be for extra vibration, I guess. As, far as ball joints go, the FMJ body cars, all of those had bolts that threaded in their type joints. All you have to do, is go get longer bolts and nuts for the 67 B-body style ball joints. THIS CANNOT BE STRESSED ENOUGH! Make sure you use at least Grade 8 or equivelant bolts, and also use good locknuts. I prefer the locknuts with the Teflon inserts.. but there are other kinds out there. Hope this helps some. Dodge33

That is exactly what I will do. I knew about the bolt grade stuff, I used to fly combat choppers....If I could afford it I would drill every nut and bolt head on this thing for lockwire….
