Hi- 1968 Charger on the column shifter- there is play in the the shifter.

I checked the trans linkage at the tranny and the plastic grommet is in good condition, also checked the linkage looks ok - is there another plastic grommet that needs to be changed in the column, anyone have a picture to help make the repair?

I have the same thing going on in my Roadrunner. It's just a lot more sloppy than I like but I can't find anything worn either. I hope someone might know something to check.

Have someone wiggle the shifter while you hold the linkage tightly, as close as possible to the first connection point and slowly work your way toward the trans until you locate the loose spot. I hope I'm making sense? You may find that the slack is a combination of just a little play in various points, or it may be one loose connection point causing it

Where does one get new bushings? Is there a kit that has all of them? I have the same issue on 2 different vehicles.

I bought some from my local Dodge dealership, but that was 5-6 years ago...give it a shot. I've seen those on
e-bay too I believe

Make sure all the washers and spring washers are in the connection points that use clips.
