I’m trying to finish up my ill fathers cars for him so he can have some money to help live out what he can.

We were trying to do it together but he recently had a stroke to top off all his other issues and is just too weak to even come into the garage to help me diagnose problems any longer.

I was hoping I could get some help from a great community such as yourselves as I move along.

First we’re trying to finish a ‘70 440 6-pack to send it off to get painted and then to auction.

After that I hope to start either a66 Hemi Belvedere 1 of 17 I think I was told... a radio delete and no carpet straight out of the factory built for drag racing.

Or... a ,69 Hemi super bee.

Hoping I can get some knowledge and guidance from you all through theses projects or as far as I’m able to get.

First up is this hissing sound...thanks in advance I really wanna help my dad to be able to sleep a little better by knowing he’s got capable help.

He says the thoughts that keep him up at night are not having his affairs and estate in order to pass on to his kids and he really wants to finish these cars to help out his worth.

First up is this terrible hissing noise...

Maybe find where the pcv hose goes to on the rear carburetor.(vacuum leak)

Was that Led zeppelin "Black Dog" that you were playing on the engine with your wrench?

BTW hit the "Welcome Wagon" so we can give you a proper Welcome!

Several things can cause this......As kid said connect the pcv valve first....second would be to ensure the carbs are tightened and sealed to the manifold...third check for vacuum leaks......last would be the carb itself aka the power valve....

Welcome to the forum btw....Best of luck with your restorations!

welcome and just take one step at a time. these guys are good on here and will be able to help you out. as for your father sorry to here about his troubles.

WElcome to the site. Sorry about your Fathers condition. Some people are dealt a tough hand in life. He is lucky to have you to help him with all of this.
Also...sorry about the unfortunate last name...FORD.

Sure sounds like a vacuum leak to me also. Welcome aboard, narrow down your location, might help a little also. There’s a lot of help just waiting on here.

Ok I figured this issue out really quick , or my brother did rather, and my dad went in for heart surgery so I kind of abomdoned this like a prick, but my dad has recovered well enough and he’s even joining me in the garage as a “supervisor” so now I’m back and I wanna thank people who tried to help.

I live in Marysville which is about 30 min NW of Columbus in central Ohio.

And yes we have the HEMI cars. Love how HEMI gets auto capitalized on my phone, I just noticed that now.

Here some pics.

And yes my last name is Ford but it’s like someone said sometimes we just get dealt bad hands in life.

I always thought I liked corvettes the most since my dad had one he taught me to drive with but now I’m working on some mopars and these things are badass.

Welcome to the forum. Sounds like you have quite the badass stable of cars. Good luck and don’t stay a stranger on the site.

Glad to hear that. Maybe I’ll see ya at the Nationals in a few weeks. I noticed some of you were trying to set up a gathering in a different post so I’ll keep an eye on that.

Anyone diagnose this popping sound?

Plug wire not connected all the way?

Spark issue at all or could it be a valve or something?

The sound is kinda faint sorry. It’s only on the left side.

So:
Just sell
Do not inject money to "fix up"

I helped out another guy with an El Camino that was sounding just like this. Found two sparkplug wires mixed up.

Sounds like you have an engine either out of a Model T.
