Mines a Whirlpool, it's done it a few times, 10+ y/o
our ice maker is in the top of the freezer,
the Ice bin is on the door
on ours, it's usually it's a small fractured piece of ice
stops the ice remover, from rotating & dumping the Ice
sometimes it's hard to see or tell too...
I'm not sure why it fractures or does it, it just does...
{mine has a little sensor beam across the Ice Bin that shuts the
ice supply off from dropping what's in the make, when the ice bin is full}
that's the 1st thing I usually check now
or the sensor is blocked
we have no water or mineral issues here, not where I live
nice clean, clear, fresh mountain spring drinking water
not some masses-shitty *** water, with all kinds of chemicals
NOT ALL OF CALIF. IS THE SAME !!
I've only changed the filter once in 10 years
it's not a cheapo deal either...
I cut it apart to see, what it looked like inside
it had literally no deposits at all,
I just push the 'reset button' about every 6-8 months or so
when the light shows/yellow or red,
that we 'allegedly' need a new filter,
it's total BS up-sale for expensive parts
it's bogus, it may be good for shitholes/inner-shitty areas that have
a lot of minerals or deposits/additives...
I know a appliance repairman a friend of my dads,
been doing it for decades now, that says
they go off, warn on regular intervals,
that they are not regulated by flow at all...
They aren't that sophisticated, not on the model I have anyway
It's ain't not cheap POS either...
I'm sure some are different too...
I trust his opinion, he knows his ****...
Good luck with the fix, it's hot we need ICE...
Opinions & result may vary vastly, don't assume anything...
If you can't help or contribute something, actually worthwhile
maybe you should just STFU...
