I had to pry out the old bulb with some WD40, plyers and a flathead. I cleaned the socket housing real good and now my front turn signal works! I think I damaged the socket though because the bulb shines ultra bright. When my parking lights are on and I activate my turn signal/hazards one filament remains on. I can see the 2nd filament pulse along with the turn signal. If I have the parking lights off the turn signal/hazards functions as normal. I'm using two new amber 1157NA standard light bulbs. Both socket housings were scrubbed good but only one I had to pry into.

Has anybody replaced the sockets on these things? If so did you push the socket out through the front or pull it out through the back? Did you have to warp either side first? Both sides appear to be too oversized to squeeze through.

Here's what I'm thinking of replacing these with: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/RNB-84725

Maybe the 2 pins at the bottom have rotated a bit....

Possibly, I really had to crank at the thing something fierce. Would make sense if the bulb contact pins were bridging the socket pins that the bulb would remain energized. I don't remember but are the socket pins designed to rotate when you plug and lock in the bulb with the slight rotation? Or does it simply spring fwd and aft?

*Solved*
The issue was that old rust grit remained. I mistakenly thought the bulb was seated properly because of the added friction. Also, grounding between the socket and lamp housing is weak. I flicked on my parking lights and rotated the socket in the housing until I got the strongest illumination. I can see why some people wire a ground directly to the socket.
