DeltaV's '70 Charger 500; The Omen

Hi how's the project going?

Slowly, as I am unpacking moving boxes of car parts and tools. Also, I picked up another project that I couldn't pass-up. Man, I need to build shelves in the garage.

Lol I understand I am in same position lol but got stuck with measurements.

I'll start with a picture of this trinket that I found while cleaning out the car in 1985.

As such, I am dubbing this long overdue project "The Omen". With sufficient harassment from you folks I will get her back on the road.

That was a great find and I am sure that will stay with the car!

The charger looks very solid.....Looking forward for some updates:thumbsup:

The handwritten info is from when I purchased the car. The ballpoint ink on the two door jam stickers was very faint in 1985 and has all but vanished to the naked eye now.

The original owner purchased the car in N.J. and drove it to Dallas, Tx. Then, he went off on an all expenses paid trip to Vietnam. Fortunately, he made it back and spent the rest of his years in the Dallas area. Nice guy. I called him right after I bought the car from owner #2 and we had a long talk.

Sadly, my spare tire is from 1971 and is therefore not the original:(
:lol:
Anyway, 6bblgt over at DC.com decoded the tire for me awhile back:

MELD Y4A511

ME = tire plant = Goodyear - Jackson, MS
LD = tire size = F70-14
Y4A = tire type = fiberglass belted w/RWL
511 - tire date = 51st week of 1971

IMHO I would keep that with the car.......highly unlikely to find a correct NOS tire thats dated and your other alternative is a incorrect reproduction tire....So an original dated vintage tire is better than a reproduction...

Absolutely! That spare is staying with the car! Maybe I'll post some bumper jack jack images soon too. The jack will never be used either, but will stay with the car.

The flip side of the handwritten page has state inspection sticker info; and a note for the odometer reading when I purchased the car. The inspection sticker is still in place.

Did I miss something? Are you selling the car?

No to both of your questions.

I am just posting updates as I unpack and (try to) get organized.

If it ever stops raining here on the weekends, then I'll take some images of the car and post them here.

Okay, good! I just read the part about the spare tire and thought maybe you were gathering up stuff to include with the "sale".

I believe that I am mentally prepared to let my '79 300 go to a new home, but the Charger is staying with me.

Before anyone asks about buying the '79 300, someone on FBBO already has first right of refusal for its purchase. I am cleaning it up before we discuss it further.

Does anyone know the history of the "Warranty Validation" sticker as pictured in post number 27 above. I had a customer send me pictures of the car they are working on, a 69 Charger RT and that car had the same sticker in door jamb as well.

I originally thought that it was possibly a dealer specific sticker as I do not see a part number or issue date as many of the factory issued decals and stickers had. I know that I have the dealer prep sheet for our 69 Charger, but it did not have this sticker.

Hopefully we can get more information on this sticker. It is great that this car retains all of the history that it was born with. I look forward to seeing more of this car as your time allows. It will be a nice piece to be starting with.

Clear, cool, and sunny today. So, I rolled the car out to get frame measurements for @7necharger thread.

A few pics taken this afternoon. The original trim rings are not unpacked yet.
