Snow!...Snow!!.....SNOWWWW!!!!

We probably got about a foot before it turned to sleet. As the Weather channel apparently had to explain what sleet was (ice pellets)

Just finished round 2 of plowing probably 1 more to go maybe.

Still freaking snowing here. Snowshoes for sure on the barn trip after while...

I'll bet it is days like this that kept you going, back when you were in the desert.

Looks like a great fire, and certainly a bit cooler than where I am right now...10am and 68F with a decent breeze. Blue skies with a few fluffy clouds....might go for an ice-cream a bit later on. :)

You would be correct. This and thunderstorms. You just have to keep telling yourself that you can endure anything for a few months. In the grand scheme that's no time at all.....

Ghost my Friend...I bet the visual views of where you are located there in VT are awesome when you get weather like this. Kind of like my million dollar views I get of the eastern slope of the Sierras when it snows. Just fantastic. Like you, I can handle this weather better than what we both had to experience in the damn sand box. If I never see that S**T HOLE place again it will be too soon! Kiwi put it most accurately when he stated that he bets you wanted to be there instead of the sand box. Man he is spot on ain't he. Oh well my Brother...Be safe when you are out plowing and don't over do it. We ain't as young as we once were so pace yourself. Then hit that recliner and have a couple of nice hot toddies...Peace Out...cr8crshr/Bill:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::usflag::usflag::usflag:

Just returned from the trek to the barn and duck coop, which, stupidly, is in the other direction. I'm an idiot. Good cardio workout!

yeah, the desert was a bitch, sand gets into every damn thing . Good weight loss program though! 125 in the shade is like a blowtorch to fat...plus walking every where wearing 70lbs of armor. Or flying wearing the whole vest and gloves w/ helmet and running on adrenaline while sweating your *** off. It's quite a workout..not many big pilots around. It's like being dressed up in a flying oven...oh yeah, the bird has A/C...right, for the electronics, not for us. More like lukewarm air. I don't miss it at all, the sandbox I mean. I miss the feeling of having a resolute purpose though.

I remember when we lived in Canada you'd go to bed and wake up in the morning to drifts as high as the side of the garage!!

Weatherman missed the call here Big Time. We were supposed to get 6-10 inches then rain with rapidly dropping temps... We got a dusting with hours of heavy rain leaving little ice on the ground only... Got more snow on Thursday when they were not really calling for much... Temps are dropping with wind they got some of it right...Oh well the gas stations, Grocery stores and Hardware stores made out great!!!

yeah, I love wood heat too. If the power goes out permanently i'll just slide the insert out and yank out the chimney 6" tube for it. load it up with firewood and carry on. Gots lots o' dat too.

Only 6" of snow here in Northwest Connecticut after an initial prediction of up to 14". Got the driveway snow-blowed just before 6AM. The overnight sleet has turned to freezing rain which is currently coming down at a good clip. Roads are horrible as I just returned from my usual breakfast with the guys at the Riverton General Store. 24 degrees now with "significant icing" expected in my area (in excess of 1/2") for the next several hours. Not good. Fire is going here too. I'm definitely in for the day. Stay safe everyone...

Nice Hearthstone stove. Sold a fair amount of those when I had a stove shop on the West Coast...
