I would also check the center bore diameter of the rotor to make sure it fits the axle. I would also clean the paint off of the flange and studs. Never force anything that is supposed to slide together.

thanks everyone. Yes, it does require the green bearings. Right Stuff sent me some. I'm hoping that this freshly built assembly already has them, but I'm not sure that I will know even when looking

Why are Green Bearings required when changing the rear brakes to disc?

If the caliper supports mount on the outside of the bearing retainer, then they don't. Dr diff also makes disc brake kits that can use the stock bearings.

Thanks. Just spent a lot of time and effort to put it back to original tapered cone and roller bearings,but thought next year of doing the 4 wheel disc set up.

I am just finishing up the Jeep Liberty rear disk conversion because I wanted to keep the tapered bearings. Iprobably could have shopped around a bit more and found a cheaper machinist but even with the expensive machine work Im still under 300 for this setup.
