These posts are always entertaining for me as I grew up in Oklahoma and have lived in The Los Angeles area for the last 22 years.
This year I FINALLY get to move back home to this beautiful, 115 year old house in Grove Ok. A town of about 7000 people on Grand Lake O the Cherokees in northeast Oklahoma.
I think it's worth mentioning that people considering relocating should concentrate on the AREA they want to move to as much as the state.
Obviously the state makes the laws but for me it's equally important to live in an area(away from big cities) that's agreeable for me. I'm originally from Tulsa and have zero desire to live there again. No offense to my friends in Tulsa but it's changed a lot since I was there in the 90's. Seems like it's become a city/rural thing as much as a state to state thing. Austin Texas comes to mind. Liberal city in a conservative state.
People will always come and go to different areas to suit their needs. I work with some pretty liberal folks that came here to LA from some pretty conservative areas. It's like an exchange program here in California. Lots of people flocking here from all over to work in la la land and lots of others fleeing in terror(like me).
It always cracks me up when I fly to Portland Oregon to see my god-daughters. There is a store in the airport that sells a bunch of anti-California, don't move here type stuff.
And when you drive on the LA freeways you see Oregon plates here all day long.

Oh well, sorry for the rant, but it was just something I've noticed over the years I've lived here. Seems to be a common theme here as we get older. Here's a pic of my new digs getting the new roof finished up. I'll be there in a few months! Can't seem to get here fast enough....
