I'm replacing my engine harness and I'm at the alternator, mine only has 2 wires on it but I have 4 on the harness. I think the black and blue one goes below while the blue one goes up top. Where does the one that looks like a spark plug boot and the green one go? Its a 1969 RR.

OK, what is the Alternator field? Does that go in the top part of the Alternator? Right now there is an eyelet there with red wire and it doesn't have a connector for the green wire?

Ah OK, I thought the other connector required an eyelet but it is a spade connector. Now I know where everything goes as long as no one is color blind! lol... Thanks guys!

So the blue one goes to the coil +, right now I have a wire from the + coil going to the ballast, is that correct?

Big eyelet to 1/4 alt bolt ,blue +coil, boot to temp terminal, your alternator should have two spa de clips with an electronic voltage regulator, negative side of coil takes with from points distributor.Anything else and you need to get some better advisors

And no one that's color blind! Well, I'm only shade blind but still....sucks on old wiring that's faded.

Yeah, I know, you should see all the faded wires under the dash!
