There is more wisdom in this statement than at first glance for sure. At least for those of us who didn't grow up on these cars and who drive modern vehicles on a daily basis.

Even with a T-Bar and leaf spring setup, upgraded the car will perform surprisingly well compared to a modern vehicle. The more you do the better it handles...

Thanks! I plan on doing shocks first and then decide what I need next. I do have to admit I love driving these old cars!

Well today I took the 69RR out for the real first ride and it rode like crap! lol I have to remember these are 50 year old cars. One thing though the borgeson steering is great! I have no complaints about that, glad I got it. I still have a lot of work to do like suspension to see if I can get it to ride a little better. All in all after all the work I did to get it back on the rode I think I did pretty good!

Also, if you replaced any front end parts like tie rods? New parts will better expose other worn parts. Idler, pitman. On my A-body? Even tired ball joints began feeling more pronounced. I replaced pretty much everything. Now she is happy. Although still doesn't drive like today's designs. But at least no more at speed wobbles, and ugly clunk noise is gone.

I'm not sure what "Crap" means to you? But if it's "Feels a little sloppy?" That is normal.

Just some simple stuff will help these old cars handle better. Shocks has already been mentioned but just lowering the car bit and adding some negative camber will make a decent change. For a street car, I like to NOT go too big on bars and heavy springs but will go oversize on sway bars. That way the car still rides decent but will corner much better. Keep in mind the suspension specs for these cars didn't include radial tires.....so I don't even use them. And I surprised more than a few late model ricers with my 66 Belvedere. On that thing, you could see the added camber if you looked close. Man, I have to get that thing back together!

I'm expecting a BIG improvement in the driving experience when I get the full QA1 front suspension system installed.
My biggest concern is a safe ride and weight transfer for traction.
