My 65 Satellite is in desperate need of new rear springs and shocks. I’m going to go with ESPO Spring and Things and have them bring them to Carlisle.
Now to my request/question, I want a rake to the car and I’m considering the +1 or +2 springs. Is anyone here running them? Can you please post a pic. I want to try and run 275’s in the back.

I used there hd springs +2”. When I first put them I thought I had made a mistake. But after a couple days of driving they settled in nicely. Wouldn’t change a thing.

I also raised the front a bit. I prefer a car that sits a little higher all the way around.
Some prefer a lower stance, that’s up to you.

If you would want some super stock springs I have a new set for 1/2 price.

You can also get a 1” to 2” additional lift by getting an “add a leaf” set from Summit. Only costs around $35. If you need extra rake for your tires - that’s what I did on my 68 GTX.

Wow that is an amazing looking car!!! Love the purple and white combo. I plan to do heavier torsion bar in the front and sit a little higher too. I like that look for the old B bodies

I was going to go SS springs but my buddy said they are not made as well as the ESCO springs. I’m a big guy so I need some strong springs lol

He may be right, I’m pleased with the ESPO springs and their service.

I bought my Satellite with ESPO's on it. They were really good (500" motor & Street Drag Radials). If you order them, be real on the TRUE weight of the car w/driver. My somewhat stripped Satellite is more than 100# heavier than I thought it would be.

i dont know what it will weigh to be honest. It has a 273 in it now but I want to build a 400 into a stroker. I know I’m 6’3 340 so I have no problem telling them that lol

You will love a 400 stroker. See if you can find a scale to drive over. Car alone weights seem to vary quite bit & usually a fair amount heavier than what I see as the published weight. Again, ESPO's seem like a good choice.

I was originally going to build a 440 and a buddy of mine told me to look at building a 400 stroker, He told me it’s stronger, lighter and takes up less room than the 440. I looked into it and not only is it at least as strong as the 440 it’s cheaper to buy too lol.

The best engine I've ever built was a 451 stroker. ^^^^ Good choice.

Back in the Day, I built 2-400 low decks with cut down 440 cranks. The 1st one I used the short low deck rods, shot peened, good bolts, 13/1 pistons (12.5 actual), extensively ported 906 or 915 heads (tried both). That rev'd quick, high RPM. 2nd used LY rods, flat top cut for B-1's ( never used them, 12.4CR). Both made good power. Todays stroker parts are much better & less expensive. Low deck 500+ is the way to go.

This is how my 63 sits with Super Stock springs I bought from Mancini. These are the 3400 lb springs and I like just how it sits on them. But I bought these springs back around 2008 as I don't know if they are made by the same place anymore as you would have to ask Mancini. Good luck with yours what ever springs you decide on. Ron
