Hey to any and all machinists on the board here, I am trying to sort out what are all these, including bits and cutters and other implements that appear to be used in a mill, lathe, CNC? I don't know, so would be great if someone can chime in on where to start will all of this, the pictures show about 2/3's of these tools, the rest need to be pulled out of a very heavy tool box and sorted.

Thanks

It's all junk , send it to me and I will dispose of it for you.

Good Lord, where did all that stuff come from? Jackpot is an understatement. I'm salivating.

I am not trying to collect, I am trying to find the value and sell all this stuff. So much stuff, and it all ways a ton!

You could go to any of several machinist tool sites to get values, but that would be a monumental task.
I have a Smithy 3 in one mill/drill/lathe, and based on what I remember of what I paid from Enco for some of my tooling, I would guess that $1000 would be a steal for what you have posted. Lets see what more informed members have to say.

I will try and post some better pictures once I can get this stuff sorted.

Nice score! Go to a machine tool store ang get a big *** thick catalog or go online like Mcmaster Carr. then get out your dial calipers and see what you have.

There is too much junk for just one person, I go halves with you...

I guess these would be the fly cutters and inserts, they are mostly Kennametal K21 Left, and some Right, with some K68 right. There are some others that appear to be specifically made by a machinist, the ones on the bottom right. The ones on the top appear to be various sized blank cutting tools.

Here are some of the mills, and a couple of chuck reamers and a couple of specialty tools, these are just the packaged ones from Union Butterfield and a couple from Niagara cutter.
So many tools!

All of them lined up on the left appear to be carbide tipped and if they say Kennametal they are very good tools
The ones on the right were very likely ground to shape from blanks by the person who was going to use them.
Myself and the guys I worked with always ground our own cutting bits , That was one of the first things the old masters taught us.

Thanks Bill, yes, the ones on the left all appear to be carbide tipped, and yes, almost all are Kennametal, the small groups are another maker, but a couple of them still have the protective wax/plastic over the tip.

I'm with BILL76, its all junk but we'll be happy to dispose of it for you for free!
