Getting ready to install a dash in the bee. Wanted to apply some lessons learned from the folks who have done it before.

Anything i can do to make it a better and more efficient install? What are the dos and do nots etc..appreciate the help. The dash has been completely rebuilt by Instrument specialities so the wiring and ops checks are good.

Firewall insulation, wiper pivots and motor, heater box, ebrake, pedals, etc all in before the dash. Read the resto threads...

When it comes to installing a dash you don't want to go in and out too often....
What does that have to do with my thread?.....I see you quoted me....

It went in twice, Once from the factory and second from the restoration...so Im lost in your statement

Per the post you quoted:

"...Dash went in and then...rut roohhh the vents....The dash had to come out..."

More than twice, I suspect....but I digress.

Ahh the vents.....I have tried to forget that issue....The color of the vents seemed way off to me and that evening I got in touch with Mancini whom restored them along with 90% of the dash...He swore it was correct so I went ahead with the install...After more thought. I still thought the color was off and got back to Mike and he agreed....So yes it had to come out to correct their error......I am not sure what more I could have done....I wasn't about to tackle around natural finishes and restored parts to pop the vents in....Then it was installed completely...

I have yet to restore a car that has had zero issues installing a part, failed part or a vendor error......

It never came out again, so I am not sure what your implying.......Everything is documented in my build thread...

I'm not implying anything. I made a lame attempt at a joke which you took as a slight to your restoration project. I didn't mean any disrespect.
You then went on to make the claim of your dash only being installed twice, which according to your own documentation, is not true. Whatever you say, I suppose?

OP, I apologize for derailing this thread.

As I stated above in post #7 I forgot about the vents and it had to come back out.......Sorry, I forgot about what happened in September of 2017...Im lucky to remember what I did last week let alone 2 years ago....

It was a really lame attempt at a joke......One thing I never do is crack on another cars in any way.........I guess I just respect others more than some when it comes to their cars...

It was not a joke in reference to the restoration. At all. I'm not one to stoop to that level.

What was odd to me is when you stated, "More than twice, I suspect" and "whatever you say, I suppose".....Can you explain more in detail what you meant? Then to expect me to recall what I did two years ago and basically saying I wasn't being truthful.....Its all documented in my build thread for all to enjoy, learn from etc and for me to recall what I did since I cant remember what I did last week...

You claimed, in post #5, that "...it went in twice, once from the factory and second from the restoration..."

Meanwhile, the restoration thread of your car which you quoted states that you had installed and removed the dash due to the vents and whatever issue they had created.
That's all.
Nothing more.

My bad joke had something to do with sex and not wanting to remove and reinstall anything unless it had to do with sex.
(having to spell it out has much less comedic effect)

Again, my intention was certainly not to irritate or upset anyone, much less derail this thread.

The comment in post #9 is the summary.
Do it right, do it once.

Lol.....As I admitted my error several times here....It was 9/2017 a long time ago...

Your video showed me enough, thanks for sharing:thumbsup:

All I know is do it without the damn windsheild in.
Tried to pull it when brother in law went vintage air to pull dash.
