My car starts but wont keep running. So I thought it was the ballast resistor so I changed it and it still wont keep running. Any idea what it might be?
PS
I looked but didnt find anything on here from a previous post although I'm sure there is

Ignition switch or it's wiring. My Bird dies if I let the key flip back too hard vs holding it while returning to run.

Stick your volt meter on the coil and switch it to the run position. If you have 7volts you’re good.

Sometime it would start other times it wouldnt so I'm thinking it must be the switch

Bad coil will do that too. If you have a spare, swap it on and try it. I'm not the type to just buy parts hoping to hit on a fix...but if you don't have a spare, consider buying one (they're not expensive) and if it's not the problem you have a spare...

Right now I have my battery hook to my coil to get it to run it's just that turning the key off doesnt shut the car off I have to get out and open the hood to pull the wire that is in the battery terminal off
