Posting commentary in classified ads....

It's getting out of control again. I know everyone here (almost?) knows that isn't allowed? One ad was inserted last Friday and it had about 25 replies. Most of it had good informative information but some of it was just banter and it's kinda odd that no one reported it. Maybe it was because another mod made a comment too??! lol I knew we all make mistakes and I'm right in there too but geez.....many of the comments came from long time members. And before I get a bunch of rocks thrown at me, remember, I didn't make the rules here. I won't say who did but his initials are Joey

There were different circumstances with that add. I don't think I need to explain. Rules are rules so delete away. We got to say what we wanted to say (Referring to a Monday post)

That's what the conversation (PM) system is for especially when it applies to ads. Just need to get the OP to open up a thread in one of the forums or someone start one for him. I'm all for helping someone find what they want but doing it in an ad isn't the right place for it......

one guy listed a motor as a six pack motor when it was a motorhome motor
and it took a public flogging before he changed the ad to be more accurate.
a pm would of been ignored
I would hate to see someone get deceived
and it is easy if you are not fully educated on this stuff
so now I have to be a narc

I, quite frankly, do not have the time, patience or inclination to go to every forum individually and read the new posts. Consequently I go to the home page where all the new posts show up in one place. I then read and reply to what interests me and I seldom (if ever!) bother to look which forum its in. Sorry !!

Those comments are normally removed after action has been taken, and it is to clean up the thread. There is no malice intended towards members who point stuff out to us.

MH's fuel mileage suck anyways! Years ago worked on a neighbor's Southwind with a 440 and TQ. Ran half assed and shifted way too early. The kickdown linkage was off a bunch but got it adjusted and running pretty good once done with it. His complaint was that his mileage went down but it sure ran good. Told him to keep his foot out of it then lol. It was one of the best running MH's I've ever driven if you got in a hurry though IIRC, it was a 34 footer...
