Well since I'm not supposed to reply in "For Sale" threads....

I cannot take all the credit....we work as a team. A damn good team IMHO.

Go Team !!!
Why isn't there a rule like you have to post *** number of times before you can place a ad? That would certainly cover everybody's asses, even Joey's! Just a thought.
I know there is an "X" area, is there a "***" area that I don't know about? I would vote for new members to post "***" before they can sell anything!

Yeah, I'd say at least 50 posts before you can sell anything, It shows your willing to be a part of the community....

...and posts with pictures of their cars.

I can't totally agree with that. There are a couple of sellers on here that never post and have earned the right to sell IMO. They are in good standings with good feedback.

That has been mentioned before, and is certainly worthy of asking again.

I think more like demanding it is more appropriate!

There always has to be a naysayer in every crowd!

I hear what you are saying....but please bear in mind that changes and tweaks cost money - programming and updating is not cheap. It will be put forward for consideration. Thanks.

there are a few 'professional' sellers here
that never post except in the Marketplace forums section
or rarely post anywhere else

but a few of them have some really good stuff
have good/decent feedback, satisfied customers

a few don't,
seems some just here, to make $$$, on overpriced parts
we do have a captured, built in market,
with an interested audience here

some could be exploiting the free advertisement

hard to tell sometimes, which is which
especially if their post count is really low
or only post in the Marketplace forums
& we don't know them well

it's a conundrum

I can see both sides of the discussion
we need new people that may have parts, we need
& we need new people that contribute,
knowledge, help & experience
& not just try to make $$$ off our members

How about multiple ways to qualify to be a seller...

If a member in good standing will vouch for the new seller we give them selling rights, Cause we all likely know someone who isn't real internet savvy that has a parts hoard that should be sold to people who can use it before it falls to the family members who want nothing to do with that junk & will probably haul it to the dump...

Trust me, I know a few of those...

No photos of your junk thanks.

I agree with @1 Wild R/T to a point - I have bought from plenty of members here, and two that spring to mind are @Moparparts and @ZooKypr - neither of them post very much at all in the general forums, but I regard them as extremely reputable sellers, who follow through with what they promise. Price is irrelevant with their items, as it is what it is - if I want the stuff, I'll pay the money.

Slightly off track here ....but the feedback rating system is a valuable tool, and if people use it correctly, we have fewer problems. :)

I like that idea too...

But;
It's not my place to be able to change it...

I can't help it, this needs to be pointed out.....

So as of today (10/8) there were three ads posted for "Restored" Wiper Motors.... Well what they really are is the barrel from somewhat desirable part number wiper motors installed on later model motor assemblies... They are completely visually wrong & the guy wants more $$$ than you would pay from most of the normal wiper motor restoration vendors for a properly done restoration.....

The correct motor has red Gyptol sealing wires soldered to a fiber insulator board as shown below...

The ones listed have the 73 & up style plastic insulator.... As seen in the ads.. and also below..View attachment 847198View attachment 847199View attachment 847200

So who’s the vendor?

I’m on a SRT forum also and there’s a 30 post minimum before you can sell anything.
