Sold a couple of items this past week or so. Sent them the next day, after receiving payment. Then I get a text with photos explaining the damage to one item - supposedly - and the appearance of another. Problem to me was neither of the items shown looked like the ones I sent. I did refund the fella, probably should not have. Just another bad internet experience to put on the list.

A buyer from FBBO?

I wouldn't have refunded a dime until I was positive those were the items I sent with detailed photos

Been there done that. After I was the nice guy and gave the money back I told a buddy of mine about the deal. Here is what he does he tags everything before he sells it. Like body parts he paints a stripe on it in pink then send a pic to the buyer and never has to return money. Intakes put marks on the underneath etc. I have started following this and come to find out makes it easier to do the deal

I am curious also....buyer from FBBO?

That sucks ! I've had a guy try the old switch a roo on me I could tell right away it wasn't the same part I told him to send it back after witch I would look for my Mark I put on items before I ship . I never heard back from him after that !

They have to send me the parts back before I return the money. That way I can verify them as my parts. Also I usually have sent detailed pictures of the items to the buyer. Things sometimes get damaged in shipment, so insurance is on the buyer if they want it.

I know how you feel Bob, its the kind of thing that makes this wonderful hobby a pain in the !@#. Wish we could weed out the chaf.

Sorry for the bad experience. Some more details. Pics of part sold and pic of "damaged" part. There are horrible buyers I get one once a year.....

Hopefully not those Satellite pieces??? You gave those away anyway!! :BangHead:

I would of asked for the items back and recieved prior to the refund .

OP disappeared like he owed US money...

Joined two years ago. Posted 8 times, and 7 of them were to sell some parts. Parts were super reasonable tho, or so they appeared. Go figure. Sure would like to know the particulars of the bad sale....

Just saw this, and need to clear the air.
I am/was the purchaser.
The items in question were fairly priced indeed, but misrepresented. Also, I have not received the refund this fella says he sent as of this writing. I'm not one for pissing matches on the keyboard, but when my integrity is questioned I have no choice. The quotations are direct from the for sale ads.
First- the center grill. "No dents, no bends, just needs cleaned up" - see pic for reference. I should have caught it in the posted picture IN THE FOR SALE AD. But hey, I'm one to take someone at their word, at least the first time.
Secondly, on the finish panel. "Has usual aluminum ghosting which can be cleaned up" - pitting and scuffs are not easily cleaned up. Again refer to the pics.
Finally, the first two pictures, if studied should show that what I claim to be his parts are indeed his parts I received. This is my major hang up.
I'm not asking anyone to step in here and be the jury, but feel free to make your own conclusions. I too will chalk it up to another bad internet sales experience...

Kudos to you for stepping up to tell your side of the story.
I am curious though, if you do receive a refund, what will become of the parts?

Looks like another questionable internet transaction. So what your saying is that the pics your sharing don't match the photos the seller used for the ad? If so that's just %ucked up, you definitely have a beef with the seller. On the bright side from what I can see the parts look to be distressed but repairable. Are they better than what you were wanting to replace? I'm not sure what you payed for these but if you didn't have anything better then I suppose you need to just make the best of it. Sucks getting stuff that isn't what you expected..
Thanks for standing up and telling your side of the story

Minty parts cost a minty price. Used parts are just that.
