Is there anyone selling convertible top boots for 69 b bodies with the correct clips other than legendary? The customer service was so bad when I bought my interior that I’d prefer not to deal with them again if possible

Check with Acme Auto Headliners or Kee tops. Acme provides product to Legendary and Stock interiors and you may have to go through a vendor of theirs to purchase the product. But gives you some different alternatives. Most of the aftermarket automotive upholstery shops use Kee for a wide variety of products. They will sell direct or refer you to a vendor within your area.

As for as correct, Acme will very possibly be good as they at one time had a wide selection of NOS material and parts. I am thinking Kee may be more generic, but it is best to call to verify and ask for a sample.

I’ll check with Acme. I got my top from Kee. It was a very nice product, but the only boot they offered was one that snaps on and I don’t want to drill holes for snaps in my moldings

There's a vendor on Ebay that sells boot covers made by PUI. He used to have one listed that had the snaps only. I just checked the listing and now the cover "looks" like it has the plastic clips. He also has listed as a new item, just the plastic clips. I emailed him to get confirmation that the cover has the clips now since I need one too and wasn't about to drill the snaps into the chrome trim. I'll let you know what he answers me. Here's the link to the ebay listing.

I'm looking for a boot as well and I have an upholstery guy in town that did my headrests and console panels very reasonably priced and does outstanding interior work. Lucky he's just a few miles away. Anyway, reason I mention is you may have good shops in your area at least worth a check as you hunt this down.

. Any pics of your headrests? I need mine recovered or to get some new ones. I had considered getting the boot made locally, but by the time I have it made and buy the clips I don’t think I’d save anything.

Let me know what he says please. I’m not in a huge hurry since top down driving is about over for me this year I think. But I just really don’t want to deal with legendary’s lack of customer service and lies if I can help it

Here's one pic I can locate others if you would want to see more. I added these rests from a later B to my early B before headrests were around mostly for safety as I had a neck fusion and doc said I wouldn't do well in a whiplash event.

Those look great, but they are a different style from my 69, that was why I was curious because the 69 style look like it would be near impossible to recover

Send a photo of your headrests...

I heard back from him this morning. He said the clips have to be ordered separately. I asked how do they attach, waiting for a reply. I'm going to check my old boot cover and see if I can tell. Keep you posted.

SMS auto fabrics out of Oregon is another place that carry’s the material and makes just about every piece

So the idiot Ebay vendor didn't know what he was talking about. His response to how the clips attach was to google it. So, I contacted PUI directly (they are the mfgs. of the boot cover). Heard back from them today. So, the clips ARE pre-installed on the new cover and don't have to be ordered separately. So now the ebay vendor was 0-2 on the info he gave me and I took his advice and googled the PUI part number and found a different vendor that was $30 cheaper. They are all drop shipped from PUI, so the cheaper outfit got my order. Supposed to take a few weeks to get it. I think they make them to order, probably like ACC carpets. I'll let you know the quality when I get it. Here's the link. Mine is white, so a different color might be a different part number.

Let me know how it looks. I need a white one myself

yes, please let us know, how it fits, and affixes. i also do not want to drill holes in the chrome. mines a 68

So I finally got the new top boot, or rather I should say the second one. The first one I received from PUI had defective stitching on a seam. I contacted them and they immediately issued a return authorization with a pre-paid shipping label. I guess they were out of stock because the replacement they sent took about 5 weeks whereas the first one took a week to get. The second one was fine. I went over it very closely, especially where the first defective stitching was. Clear difference. It's raining here so couldn't pull the car out to fit it so no idea yet on the fit. When I do, I will post further updates. Here are pics, front and back.

Those are the plastic clips not the metal snaps. The plastic clips are correct.

I have some NOS clips for 69 if you are interested. Bought them in 1979.

Looks pretty decent. Keep us posted on the fit
