Do you know the owner of that yellow Chevy? I know the car and who owned it (assume still does) from buying some N96 parts off a 70 Roadrunner they had in their yard. Flooded with water repeatedly, AMD, God Himself may not have been able to bring it back it was so bad. Literally NO floor. None. Gone.
Anyway, they had the, THE most beautiful paint job (yellow) on a 69 Roadrunner in a trailer, no motor at the time, but flawless, absolutely mirror flawless yellow paint and gaps.

DVW.
I bet if you got one, you'd have that 8 second time slip that you've been dying to get.
Especially if you had 8 O2 sensors.
Then I'd actually have to take the tops off the carbs. Heck I have a single O2 and haven't used it. Maybe this year.

Just don't set your timing @70 *:bananaweed:

I only have 3 passes on the car.
Snap !! I have 3 passes on my truck, and all I have learned from that so far is this;
  • My right foot is too heavy and doesn't communicate well with my brain,
  • I can't hear a dang thing with a helmet on,
  • Racing is expensive per pass....if you work it out that way. :D
Do what you are comfortable with, and don't let too many people influence how you run your setup. More mouths means more confusion.
There are some really clever people on this site, and a handful of them are worth listening to.

Racepak will specially make a valve stem sensor for guys who run tubes in beadlocks.
Says you can tell when the tire turns and rips the valve stem off the wheel during the run!
Takes the guess work out of the equation.
Neat stuff!

Never had that happen but probably wasn't running fast enough to do that....? Is that one of yours and is that wheel a bead lock? Never really paid much attention to what the faster cars were using as far as wheels go and the system used to guard against tire slippage but never had a problem running 10's. Had a car that ran high 9's but didn't have it for very long before life got in the way....

I never seen or heard of those. One would think if your tire turns enough to pull the valve stem out (which it shouldn't being bolted in) you would notice right away?

Only the fast guys run 70* and know how to adjust it on their crank trigger and program it on their MSD Digital 7 box.
That's why most cant get out of the 10s and very rarely go 9 seconds.
Just make sure your engine builder puts 15* pistons in with 13* heads.

I would never run a tube in a beadlock.
Someone tried and failed so I called Racepak and they will make them special .

Going to post up later a new piece of the puzzle.
Wasnt cheap but will definitely get me to the next level in ET.
It's related to Dataloggers too!

I used to know a guy that overspent to buy a roller in 2004 that was going 8.50's,,,,put a 600+ ci engine in and could hardly go 8.6. He had been threatening to show up to a big MOPAR heads up race for years. He was finally intimidated to show up but.......the greatest NSS SUPERSTOCK racer of all time went out the 1st round on Saturday AND Sunday and cried the 10 hours it took to get home.:drama::blah::blah::blah::nutkick::poke::gay::popcorn:
I do have a picture that splains so much,,,,,,,,OH,and one of the car when raced by the previous owner:carrot:

I bought that race pac side wall monitor. Painted a blue computer sensor (paint marker) on the sidewall next to the valve stem. When the mark on the screen (sidewall) moved 4" I should have paid attention. Even with the Race Pac it failed. But now that the screen has been updated with sheet metal screws I dont bother watching it.

This was Chuck from Best Machine's old car. It was a really nice consistent 8.5 all motor car.
