I remember looking forward to saturday morning when I was a kid in the mid to late sixties. There would be hours of nonstop quality cartoons. Bugs, Flintsones, Archie’s, then later Scooby. Things seemed to change in the mid seventies. There were fewer cartoons on Saturday morning, and they were different somehow. It’s not just that I got older, they changed. I still watch Bugs and the Flintstones when I see them on and they still hold up.
Even Sesame Street was cool at first. Then it got all politically correct. I still know the words to Its not easy being green and Rubber Ducky. Does anyone else remember the two martians on Sesame Street? The ones that tried to communicate with ordinary items and ended sentences with “yup yup yup”? Nothing like a room full of baked pot heads reliving that episode...
