The Car Has An Automatic Wiring Harness..

Where Can I Get Power To Operate The reverse Light Under The Dash?

Thanks

The dash side of the light goes into "Z" port on your bulkhead connector. You will need to purchase the engine side 2 wire harness that goes to the reverse light switch on the transmission.

My 68 "Z" port was already utilized for the front left blinker per the wiring diagram. Basically you can use any two empty ports on the bulkhead side by side in a pinch. The wiring in the car should be a purple and white wire in the harness that need to mate with the wires from the reverse switch in the trans harness. Once the trans goes into reverse, that circuit is completed and the lights will go on. Just did both my 68's last year after years without reverse lights. Pretty simple once you do one and see how it works.

They must have changed between 68 and 69 as all my 69's have used the z for the reverse lamp.

Yup they sure did. I kept hunting for the "Z" port and kept thinking I was wrong, but then the factory service manual showed that port as being front turn signal. They added the reverse light in the dash in the car mid 68 year so it may have even been a mid year deal.....who knows lol.

Thanks Guys. Just Wondering What The Correct Harness Is From The Transmission?

A Few Different Ones Listed In The Classic Industries Catolog

Thank You
