Hey guys wiring up a dakota digital
VHX in my 1970 charger. I did the RTX in my superbee last year.

I drew a blank on 2 of the circuits

Where should I tie in to get lights when i turn on the headlights?
-Tap into the Rear tail light wiring circuit?
-Tie into one of the Orange wire bulbs in the dash?

Wheres a good spot to get a 12v ignition source for the park brake light?

Anywhere close i can tap into?

Orange is instrument cluster / marker lights to DIM (+) input.
Might also need Hi Beam light which should be on original cluster
Park brake light is normally a ground. Does the VHX require a positive input?
Could use the +12 volts powering the dash, and a small relay to reverse the polarity if you need to for the park brake light.
I looked at the instructions and the brake warning input is a (-) negative / ground input so the original wire going to the dash warning light should work for the input.

Thank you. I’ll use an orange wire to the ‘ Dim ‘ port on the control box.

The parking brake says it requires a 12v source and ground which was different than the ‘ RTX ‘

I will look at the parking brake light plug on the 70 charger. It looked like it had 2 wires going to it. Otherwise I can use the 12v + black wire to the dash.

Do I still need to reverse polarity?
