Bare with me guys, just bought my first mopar and want to get one of the ready to run HEI distributors and places like speedway have the 318.360 put together as a small block. my '66 satellite ahs a 361 big block, what am I missing?

Nothing. The 361 is a B engine same as the 383 or 400 Chrysler. So just look for a listing for "B" 383.
The 273/318/360 is called a "LA" later years the 318/360 became "Magnum" due to a change in heads and valve train.
And the 413/426W/440 are what is known as "RB" blocks.
There are a few other engines but these are the most common.

The 361 is a good engine. Just as good as a 383. Only difference is the bore size. I have plans to use the 361 (I have 2 of 'um) in my 63 Belvedere to run in Nostalgia Super Stock. That's if I ever finish the car before I'm pushing up daisies !
