Anyone with a biz web site ?

Adding meta tags (meta description, meta keywords etc) are not going to help. Text (words) on the page will bring visitors.

It is true that paid listings go first, but depending on your Title element (the title displayed on the browser), content etc, you should be able to "rank". I'm not a SEO professional, but I know a little bit. Could you post your site and what "keywords" are you trying to be found in the search engines?
Mike, you may find this interesting. And even with my ignorance in this field, i may have found the root cause, of my lack of traffic. I had a call today from a go daddy rep. According to her, my google biz profile card is/ was not filled out. I presume they deleted my info for searches, due to that.

Unlikely. GoDaddy doesn't control search engines. Honestly, I don't care for GoDaddy.

If you haven't created a Google Account for you business, you should.

I meant, i think google deleted my biz account, due to their card not being filled out. Resulting in my not showing up, on google searches.

I see, I think. I maintain our church's website, including our Google Account. There was never a card to fill out. Just create an account and fill in the info like hours etc. Even without a Google Account, you should be listed unless your site has a noindex in it (it doesn't).

So, what i have learned, ( the hard & very expensive way), is that when you have a biz web site, google sends never ending robo calls, to verify the biz info. And if you don't respond, eventually they delete your info from their search engine. I get robo calls all day long, every day. As soon as i realise its not a customer, i hang up. Now, i have to weed through all robo calls, and distinguish between fake & real google calls, before verifying my info. What a PITA !

I don't know, maybe you can contact Google, maybe they will help in fixing your problem, Their algorithms are not ideal, but still, they are the best on the whole internet, if to compare with other search engines like Yahoo or Yandex. You can contact a website optimization specialist, he will help you for sure in solving your problem. Good luck to you.
