Anyone ever seen this factory heat shield? This is a one owner 64 Sport Fury hardtop, 383, 4 speed.

My ‘64 Sport Fury was dead stock with 361 when I got it and it did not have that shield. Seems like it would have interfered with the heat valve.

From reading the 64 parts book it was only installed on 361 & 383 cars not 426. However it is shown on 426 for 65.

It was slotted for the warm up valve shaft's.

Don't know why that pic is shaded in red

It was on several 64 big block cars I'd owned!

65 parts book shows it installed on 426 but not 64. Could it be it just didn't make it into the 64 book?

Wow, info on this shield is extremely hard to find! I talked to Joe Suchy at length last weekend at Carlisle and with all the cars that have passed through his hands not once has he ever seen that shield!

Y. The 1964 book has it listed in same section. The 62 and 63 has a different PN and it was revised in 64.

Can you post a good photo of yours? Thank you.

The top two photo's are of the heat riser heat shield? Amazing it still has traces of Turquoise paint.

, I always keep the hoods up and a fan blowing around so no moisture settles on the engine
